Figure 8 Chase Tag

Figure 8 Chase Tag is a fast drill that requires skaters to chase each other around a figure 8.

It can be done on or off skates - and can be particularly challenging on skates due to most of us having a much stronger direction of turn in one way.

Position cones to mark out a figure 8. One skater starts with a ten foot head start, the other chases and attempts to tag before they can complete the figure 8.

This drill is great because it combines a lot of skills into a short space and the 'chase' element makes it fast and exciting.

Note: include skating the wrong way in warm up to make sure skaters are ready to skate both directions.
