River Strong : 30 Feet of Awesome

30
mins

Objective
A group of blockers will have rapid-fire repetition practice and learn how to quickly reset, work together, and minimize rolling from a jam start.
Activity
A blocking group (of 1-4 blockers) will set up in front of the jam line and engage the jammer for 30 feet (to the pivot line) and try to make it as hard as possible for that jammer.
-Every other athlete at practice is a "jammer" and will face the blocking group.
-The blocking group will work to hold one jammer for as long as possible between the jammer and the pivot line.
-When any person touches the pivot line, the group will disengage and reset.
- After 30 seconds the next jammer will attack.
-After every other athlete has jammed, rotate who is in the blocking group.
-Continue until every athlete at practice has been part of a blocking group.

Check For Learning
Members of the blocking group will reset quickly and communicate efficiently. They will better understand how to work with each other and will be better able to hold opposing jammers as their drill time progresses.
